Matrimony asks families to put their most personal details in a stranger's hands. We built Matchmonster so you never have to. What follows is not marketing — it is how the platform is engineered, written down so you can hold us to it.
The vault
What we keep sealed
Your public profile and your private details are stored apart, by architecture — not by policy alone. The public side carries only what you chose to show. Everything below lives in your vault, and leaves it only through an explicit reveal that you control.
Your full name
The world sees a first name or the alias you choose.
Your date of birth
Profiles show an age in years. The date stays sealed.
Your phone number and email
Never listed, never searchable, never sold.
Your family's names and contacts
Parents and siblings helping your search are not inventory. They are never published.
Your private photos
Photos marked connections-only live here until you say otherwise.
What you told your advisor
Anything you tell our team during review stays between you and them. It never appears on your profile.
Contact reveals
Three locks on every reveal
A contact card opens only when all three conditions hold at once. Any one of them missing, and it stays shut.
The match must be mutual
The contact card opens only after you have both said yes to each other. Anyone else can only ask for one category of detail at a time, and nothing is shared unless you grant it.
You must have allowed it
Sharing on match is a setting you choose for each profile. Leave it off and a match opens nothing — the card stays shut.
You can take it back
Turn sharing off, or stop sharing a category you granted, at any time — the next opening is refused. What someone has already seen cannot be recalled, so share when you are ready.
reveals are recorded · each profile lists who holds which details · stopping closes it again
Photos
Every photo has its own rule
Public
Shown to anyone browsing. Entirely optional — many members show none.
Connections only
Visible after a mutual match. Until then, browsers see a veiled tile — a designed state, not a missing image.
On request
Shared person by person, when you decide. You see who asked; they see nothing until you agree.
Quiet by choice
Invisible mode & the no-SMS promise
Invisible mode
Step out of browse and match lists while you look around, take a break, or talk with someone you have already matched. Your conversations continue; new eyes see nothing. Switch back whenever you are ready.
No SMS. Ever.
We never ask for an SMS OTP and never send marketing texts — so your phone number never needs to enter the system at all until you choose to share it with a match. Signup verifies by email; if we need to reach you during review, we use the number you gave us.
Human verification
Gold here is earned, never bought
The gold mark on a profile means one thing: a person at Matchmonster read it and approved it. There is no paid tier that grants it and no checkbox that fakes it. Each rung below means only what it says.
Reviewed and approved
Before any profile goes live, a person here reads it and approves that exact version. Where something needs checking, we contact the member or whoever manages the profile. The mark says the review happened — not that we can vouch for facts outside the profile.
ID verified
Members may additionally verify a government ID with our advisor team. The document is sighted, never stored on the profile.
Family verified
The strongest mark: family members named on the profile have confirmed what it says. Reserved for profiles where the whole household stands behind the search.
Your data, your rights
Leave with everything. Or leave nothing behind.
Under applicable data-protection law — and by our own standard regardless of where you live — your data answers to you. Both of these are self-serve from your settings, and neither requires a reason, a call, or a waiting period designed to wear you down.
Export everything
Your profile, your vault, your interests, your conversations — packaged and handed to you in a portable format, whenever you ask.
Delete for good
Deletion removes your profile, your vault and your photos. Found your match here or elsewhere — either way, when you are done, you are gone.
In writing
What we will never do
We will never show your phone number, email or address on a profile — at any price.
We will never send you an SMS, or use SMS OTPs. Not for signup, not for marketing, not at all.
We will never sell, rent or trade your data to advertisers, brokers or "partners".
We will never let anyone browse photos you marked private, including our own staff beyond the advisors who serve you.
We will never use what is in your vault to score, rank or advertise you.
We will never make deleting your account hard, partial or shameful.
We will never verify a profile for money. Verification marks are earned in review by our advisors, or not at all.
A thread tied is a promise made.

Common questions
Questions about privacy
- Where do my personal details live?
- In a private vault, separate from the profile other members read. Full name, date of birth, phone numbers, email, family contacts and private photos are stored apart from the public profile content and are released only through a reveal the owner has consented to.
- Who can see my photos?
- Photos you mark public are visible to approved, signed-in members. Photos you mark for connections are served only to you and to members you have a mutual match with — the image bytes themselves are gated, not just hidden in the interface.
- What happens if I report another member?
- A report reaches a human on the engagement team. Reports never unpublish a profile automatically — one complaint is not allowed to remove someone from the platform without a person looking at it.
- Can I leave and take my details with me?
- Yes. You can export your own profile as a document, and the private sections are included only when you tick them yourself. Your vault data is yours.
